What ROCK Climbing is all about! |
Rock Climbing is a professional
sport. It requires physical and mental capabilities such as strength,
endurance and knowledge. It also demands the development of special
skills - such as technique, balance, problem solving, hold recognition,
and so on. Both fitness and skill must be used in situations of fear, anxiety and stress. |

Types of ROCK Climbing |

- Traditional rock climbing

In this type of climbing,
climber will not normally rely on routes with bolted
holes. Climber will instead create his own routes up the rock, utilizing
mental and physical skills. Climber will use gear, such as sling, nuts
and camming devices that will not be left permanently in the
rock. |

- Sport climbing
- |
 |
In this type of
climbing, climber will follow the already established where that the bolts and anchors
are placed permanently in the rock. Climbers need to follow the routes
to avoid from falling. Climber will use gear such as quickdraw. |

- Indoor
climbing - |
This is the best place
to learn how to climb! It is very safe ! You can rent all the climbing
equipment! It's a good way to try the sport out before you buy the
equipment or decide on whether Rock Climbing is the sport for you! Rock climbing
is a serious sport and its equipment DON'T come cheap. Indoor rock
climbing also offers a lot of competitive climbing. |

- Bouldering - |

Free climbing
but only done close to the ground (usually no higher then 10
feet) without ropes. Climber needs a crash pad below to cushion the
climber in case of falls. This is a good training ground for beginner climber
to get more power and skills before they try outdoor climbing! In
bouldering,
you do not need a buddy ! Climber can climb alone though it is a good idea to have
a spotter to help the climber fall on the crash pad. Bouldering is a cheaper way to feel what rock climbing
is all about! You just need a pair
of shoe to climb! |

- Aid Climbing

Climber will
use equipment to aid them to scale the rock! Climber
will use gears such as Pre-drilled holes with bolts that can be clipped
into jumars, and daisy chains. |

- Big Wall
Climbing (Big Wall) - |

This is the most
challenging rock
climbing adventure! Climber needs to climb multiple pitches to reach
the top. Climbs like these can be done on routes such as Dragon
Horns in Tioman Island and can take several days! Climber needs a lot
of climbing gear and a strong support team! |

- Free Solo
Climbing (Dead Climb) - |
Climber climbs
without any climbing safety gear ! You fall you DIE ! Climb at your
own risk! |
