Meili Snow Mountain & Yubeng Village 9 days 8 nights trip.

The hidden trails offer trekking adventures through Yunnan, one of the best hiking destinations in China, and go deep into Yunnan’s untouched area – the incredibly beautiful Yubeng Village. You will do two one of the best treks in China - Tiger Leaping Gorge and Yubeng Village. Trekking in Yubeng and Tiger Leaping Gorge is sheer joy, even for the experienced mountain trekkers. The landscape is dramatic and diverse: Snow Mountains, alpine forest, holy waterfalls, glacial lakes, and pasture and deep valleys. Apart from the amazing Yubeng trekking experience, you will also explore the primitive Tibetan and Lisu Villages in Yunnan, and visit Yunnan snub-nosed monkey at the national park. 

Itinerary
Day 1 Kuala Lumpur to Kunming to Lijiang.
Take train to Lijiang from Kunming (3 hours)
Accommodation: Standard room

Day 2 Lijiang -Baima Yakou (4292M) – Deqin – Feilaisi (3400M) (B,L,D)
After breakfast, drive to Feilaisi. Have a distance view of Napa Grasslands en route. Then visit Nixi Pottery Village, Jinsha Grand Canyon, Benzilan, an enticing old town on ancient Tea Horse Road, and century-old Dong Zhu Lin Mnastery (East Forest Monastery). Go ahead and cross Yakou of the national nature preserve Baima Snow Mountain (Yakou is 4,292m/14094ft). Finally arrive in Feilaisi.

Day 3 Feilaisi – Xidang Village – Yubeng Village (12km/6-7h trekking, 3360m/11024ft)(B,L,D)
Get up in the early morning for the sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain (if weather permits), and overlook the magnificent Mingyong Ice Glacier. Drive to Xidang Village, then start your hiking trip to Yubeng Village. We will hike through the primeval forest, pass Zongya Pass (3,750m/12303ft) and finally reach the idyllic land of Yubeng Village at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain, which is known as the miniature version of the real Shangri-La.

Day 4 Yubeng Village – Xiaonong Base Camp (16km/7-8h trekking)- Yubeng village.(B,L,D)
A full day hiking trip of Xiaonong Base Camp – travel through the virgin forests, alpine vegetation and wild flowers, Wuguan Peak, Mianchumu Peak, 91 Base Camp, Mt. Kawagebo glaciers, ice lake, pasture…
Accommodation: Tea house

Day 5 Yubeng Village – Sacred Waterfall – Lower Yubeng (B,L,D)
After breakfast, trek to Sacred Waterfall (3500m/11483ft). Local Tibetans bath in the waterfall to purify the mind.

Day 6 Yubeng - Ninong (Need to Walk 6 hours) - Deqin. (B,L,D)
After breakfast from Yubeng will trek to Ninong Village it take about 6 hours then take car to Deqin.
Accommodation: Standard room.

Day 7 : Deqin to Baima to Shangri-La (B,L,D)
The view along the way is fantastic with different kinds of trees, streams down the valley, prayer flags and stupas, and Tibetan villages.
Accommodation: Standard room.

Day 8: Shangri to Tiger leap to Lijiang then back to Kunming by Train. (B)
After Breakfast will trek from Shangri to Tiger leap go and come back take about 3 hours
Over Night at Train.

Day 9: Kunming flight back to Kuala Lumpur.(B)
Conclude the trip.

Travel Tips:
Visitors are advised to always carry changes of clothing due to the large variations in temperature between day and night.
The climate is relatively dry, so drink more water every day.
Protecting oneself from strong UV radiation at high altitude.
Protecting oneself from altitude sickness. Lessen the effects of altitude sickness, avoid strenuous exercise and have plenty of rest.
Respect local customs, habits, and religious beliefs.
Situated on the northern edge of the tropical zone, Xishuangbanna area is hot, humid and rainy.
Do not forget to take an umbrella or a raincoat when go out.
When take photos, please pay attention to your safety, do not shoot in dangerous areas.

It Is for me?
For the trek on this trip the general rule is the more preparation you have done for it, the more you will enjoy it. The climb is pretty strenuous as we walk through hilly terrain with our back packs and the temperature is often hot and muggy changing to -5 Celsius at the top of Meili and Yubeng . MMG recommend that you undertake regular aerobic activities in 2 month before you trekking, particularly if you are not in the habit of regular exercise. Walking, jogging, swimming or riding a bike are all good ways to increase your aerobic fitness, which will allow you to enjoy the trek to its fullest. This trip is advisable to join MMG organize training trip before join the trip.
