Mt. Phangran, 4127m, Putao, Kachin State

Day 1. Arrival at Putao
On arrival at Putao by the early morning flight transfer to hotel by jeep. After lunch at restaurant, have a sound visit to a village nearby, and there meet our hiking group to prepare for our long trekking and hiking to Mt. Phangran, 4127 m above sea level, 55 miles from Putao placed on the border of Myanmar and India, in the late afternoon. Evening tour includes a vacation to a village before enjoyable dinner at Putao.

Day2. Putao-Shangaung-Wasandum
To upper Shanghaiing village – need approximately an hour for 10 miles – proceed by jeep after a visit to the morning market. The trek in the forested mountain, for about 7 hours, is commenced at the village over Mt. Shangaung (4600 ft/ 1400m). Warsandan Village, a small village placed on the bank of Namlan River, is the end point of the day trekking program, also good for night stop, and there catch the enjoyable feeling of sunset.

Day3. Wasandum-Awadum-Ziyadum
Start the morning tour program with the 5 hour long trekking for 9 miles to get to the destination Ziyadum Village, which is situated about 1050 m above sea level. Easy trek on the flat route in the forest along the Namlang creek first reaches Awadum Lizu Village after lunch on the way. The next village is Ziyardum Village, the last Rawan village in the north-west of Putao, positioned on the bank of Ziyar River among the surrounding of the ever green forest. Take photos along the river while enjoying sunset.

Day 4. Ziyadum - Camp ( I ) - Camp ( II )
For today tour plan, need our effort for in some parts it can be said of containing the difficult route on the huge rocks along Phangran River in the evergreen forest, and we have to climb the rocky cliff if the water level is higher than normal. Enjoy packed lunch with tea at camp I; after that, proceed to camp II, our destination, which we will arrive in the evening. Take photographs on the bank of the river during relaxation – the good picture of snowcapped mountains among the evergreen forest can be obtained if we are in the fine weather. Grab hold of enjoyable dinner at camp II on such a high mountain, which is 1600 above sea level.

Day 5. Camp ( II ) - Camp ( III ) ( Tarking Camp )
The dawn is welcomed by the sweet calls of the birds in the beautiful scenic morning. Continue, after breakfast, another five-hour-long trekking, stretching the distance of 1900 m, to camp III in the colder water in some portions. Subsequent to today among-forest-trekking – it is the most difficult day because of some rocky cliff and deep water level, will stop at camp III for the night stop beside the river.

Day 6. Camp ( III ) - Camp ( IV ), Choung Sone Camp
In the cool morning, after breakfast, cross the river first for the continuity of the trek on the rocky mountain heading toward camp IV that is 2900 m above sea level. Spent six hours for today hiking, reach the target camp IV situated in the valley of snowcapped mountains. It is a good photo point and easy to find the mountain goad, Tarkin, Trogopans and many rare birds species. It's also at the end of the river and starting point of the hiking on the snow. In the evening, it will be a paradise if weather is fine. Dinner and overnight at camp-IV.

Day 7 Camp ( IV ) - Based Camp ( Pine hill camp )
After breakfast, start hiking on the deep slope cliff, probably in the snow, which is hard in the first two hours. Keep on trekking for next two hours after a short rest on the pine hill, 35000 m above sea level. During lunch time on a mountain, it will be good for photographs of Mt. Phangaran before proceed to the base campground. The base site is also a snowcapped area, at the altitude of 3700m, and excellent to view Mt. Phangaran and the snowcapped mountain ranges along the border of Myanmar and India.

Day 8 Base camp - Summit Mt. Phangran - Camp IV
Enjoying the sun under the shadow of Mt. Phangran, 4127m high, make the commencement of hiking to the apex of it within the duration of 3 hours on the snowcapped mountain passing through the narrow rocky cliff. The tea time at the summit while taking photographs on the vista of the atmosphere will become memorable for you in such an adventure-like trip. After one and a half hour rest, leave for the base camp in the half of the period of ascending. Spend pleasurable time during lunch and then trek back to camp IV. Catch the moment of sunset in the valley of snowcapped mountain.

Day 9 Camp IV - Camp II
Leave camp IV when finished breakfast in the rising sun to begin the trek on the stony way back to camp II within approximately 9 hours. To have the experience of passing the icy water about 10 is possible before lunch at camp III. The night stop will be at camp II.

Day 10 Camp II - Ziyadum
The way to Ziyadum village is easy in spite of the walk on the stones for about three hours. Lunch will be at the destination where taking leisure in the evening time serves an excellent moment of relaxation for all of our used energy.

Day 11. Ziyadum - Kharlan - Wasundum
Acquire pleasure from the easy trek (9 miles) as well as the photo stops after commencing your walk toward the destined Kharlan Village, a small and pleasant Rawan village having the background of the dense forested mountain. The enjoyable experience will be continued by the time of crossing a small traditional rattan suspension bridge, whilst back from the village, observing the nature and culture of it. Lunch at Awadun Lizu village and arrive at Wasundum Village in the evening to grasp the pleasant moment of sunset at Nantu River.

Day 12. Wasundum - Shangaung
Taking lunch box, trekking up again to the top of Mt. Shangaung, 1600m above sea level, introduces the morning with a touch of the splendor of the nature. We will be in Shangaung village, one of the biggest villages in the vicinity of Putao with about 2000 villagers, mainly Rawans and Lizus, again after 12 mile trek. Evening sightseeing around the village is to contact their cultures.

Day 13. Shangaung - Putao
The jeep travel to Putao is after breakfast and takes an hour for the arrival. Go and see a Lisu village in the evening, spending the two hours of walking. Dinner and night stop will be at hotel at the end of the day.

Day 14 Putao
After morning sightseeing in the village and breakfast, proceed to Machanbaw by jeep during the extra day in Putao. Taking photographs, in the evening, on the suspension bridge, with the name of the village Mularshide, over Mula River will make enjoyable pleasure into existence. Mularshide Lizu village, the biggest Lizu village which is the first to be initiated of Christianity in northern Myanmar. The first church of Putao and Sunday school of Rev. J. R. Morse in the village is included in the tour highlights. Taking photographs on the suspension bridge with the name of the village Mularshide will make enjoyable pleasure into existence. In the evening, strolling around the town and capturing sunset at Sutaungpyi Pagoda are also the essence of the day tour line up.

Day 15 Departure to Yangon
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight. You can flight back to Yangon via Myitkyina and Mandalay .

Note:
The best time to visit there is between Oct; and April.
