Gangtey Gompa Trek

Gangtey Gompa Trek (10 days )

Trip Introduction

This is a combination of moderate and easy treks. Starts from Phobjikha Valley at 3000m, is in one of the few glacial valleys in Bhutan. It is chosen home of the rare  Black-Necked Cranes which migrate here in the winter from Tibetan plateau in the  north. The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful places in Bhutan and houses the century- old Gangtey monastery. The trek visits the village of Gogona and  Khotokha passing through meadows, fields, and forests of Juniper, Magnolia and  Rhododendron. This is one of the finest low-level treks in Bhutan.

Day to Day Itinerary for Gangtey Gompa Trek

Day 01 Arrival in Katmandu International Airport and Transfer to Hotel Shanker or similar category hotel.O/N KATMANDU.

Day 02 A half day sightseeing tour and Bhutan Preparation. O/N KATMANDU.

Day 03 Arrive Paro and transfer to the hotel

Day 04 Thimphu

Day 05 Gantey

Day 06 Trek to Gogona. O/N CAMP.

Day 07 Trek to Khotokha.O/N CAMP.

Day 08 Trek to Chazam (trek ends and transfer to hotel near Punakha or Wangdi

Day 09 Drive to Paro.O/N PARO

Day 10 Transfer to the airport back to Kathmandu.O/N KATMANDU. Or extend your other Advenutre Trip.

A deposit of RM4000 is required upon confirmation and the balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to the departure date.
Non-payment by required date may result in the cancellation of your booking and subjected to cancellation charges.

Special Note (For trekkers):
It is recommended that all trekkers should have themse lves medically checked before attempting any high altitude trek. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommended that you should refrain from trekking to a high altitude.
Hypertension, Arthritis, Heart Disease, Severe Anemia, Peptic Ulcers, Epileptic Fits, Obesity (overweight). Chronic Asthma, Muscular Cramps, Hepatitis (Jaundice); or any other disease, which may hamper the trekker.
