Langtang Trek

Summary: Close to Katmandu long transportation with steep hills road. Trek through forest to an alpine valley just south of the Tibetan boarder. Good alpine views and interesting Tibetan-style village.


This adventurous 10-day trek gives you the opportunity to get right in among the Himalayan peaks and to get off-the-beaten-track, walking through some fascinatingly remote and relatively unpopulated areas. The trek passes through an ever-changing climate and offers trekkers an exceptional diversity of scenery and culture. Altitudes of 4610m are reached, and a reasonable level of physical fitness is necessary to comfortably complete this trek.


We will take very thrilling bus trip to Syabrubesi. The journey begins trekking beside the torrid white waters of the Bhote Kosi River that follows an immense gorge, enjoying some superb bamboo and forested areas and the abundance of animal and bird life, including: mountain deer, pandas, Langure monkeys and jungle goats. Passing a series of majestic waterfalls flowing over house sized boulders; we will come to a hot spring where we will be able to relax. On the way Langtang (3450m) we will enjoy spectacular views of the snow covered white giant Langtang Lirung (7200m). Later on, we will pass through some friendly Sherpa villages to the fascinating village of Kyanjing Gompa (3800m). Here we will spend the following day experiencing the spiritual lifestyle of the dedicated Buddhist monks who worship in a beautiful Monastery dating back to the 1300s. We will also have the opportunity to visit the traditional cheese factory. A side-trek will also be taken to the magnificent glacial moraine (4300m) and Tserko Ri (5033m) which we will be able to climb.  On the way return you we will visit the village of Chadan Bari (2800m), we will enjoy magnificent views of the towering snow-covered Ganash Himal range (7600m) and Langtang II (7227m). The village of Chadan Bari is one of the best places to spot one of the elusive Red Pandas that inhabit the Langtang region. We continue to Dhunche village, trekking through stunning pine forests and rhododendron woods. From Dhunche we will be transported back to Kathmandu, enjoying the exceptional forest views on the way.
