This fantastic 13-day trek allows you to enjoy all the cultural and scenic highlights of the Everest region. It is less crowded than others in the Everest region; therefore it is excellent for those who aspire to get off-the-beaten-track. This trek has been classified ‘moderate to difficult’, and a reasonable level of physical fitness is strongly recommended.

The trek starts with a majestic mountain flight to Lukla where you can enjoy the mountain views of the Himalayas. It also includes visits to Namche Bazaar, with the colorful and vibrant market place. The Sherpa people whose lifestyle is uniquely different to any other indigenous populace in the world and who are renound for their warm heartedness inhabit the villages in which we will be staying. Tengboche will also be visited. This village is home to the highest Buddhist monastery in the world (4100m), also reputed by photographers as one of the best places to capture the awesome beauty of Mt. Everest (8848m) and its surrounding peaks. Another highlight will also be a hike to the breathtakingly beautiful Gokyo Lake. Mountainous valleys, alpine lakes, and numerous glaciers surround the Gokyo lake area. This trek presents you with countless awe-inspiring views of Everest and its neighboring giants. The second part of our trip heads up the stunning Dudh Kosi Valley, crowned by the 8153m peak of Cho Oyu and its towering companion peak Gyachung Kang. We follow the trail on the western side of the valley, heading through small summer herding settlements to skirt around the gigantic Ngozumba Glacier, and then arrive at a series of small lakes. The tiny herding settlement of Gokyo (4750m) is situated by the third lake, and offers exceptional views. We climb the 5483m peak of ‘Kalapattar’ for spectacular views of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, plus a host of smaller peaks. Retracing our steps to Lukla, from where we will fly back to Kathmandu enjoying our last visions of the Everest region’s dramatic scenery.
